Oh? She started a blog too? How original...

Yup, I started a blog.  I am sure you are thinking "way to hop on the bandwagon, Jen, how original", but you are here reading it and for that I am truly thankful. 

I had a thought today (and no, it didn't hurt).  My life is crazy...strike that...my family's life is crazy.  Between the kids and their activities, me and my board/committee meetings and volunteering, Will and his "man time", how do we make "family time"?  My goal in life has always been to be that mom that my children have fond memories of...a June Cleaver kind of mom (the 21st century version of course!). 

I know it sounds lame, but I have a secret passion to cook/bake and to learn how to use a sewing machine.   I sat and thought about what I can do to combine those things...get back to the "good old days"...that's when this blog came into conception.  I thought, why not chronicle my adventures?  I mean, come on, this is going to be hilarious!  Can you imagine, me, Jen Prewitt, learning how to do those things?  It's bound for disaster!  I am not trying to be negative, but when learning, mistakes are bound to happen, right?  Why not make every one's day a little brighter?

My other lame obsession is saving money (I am Dutch, this came a surprise to you?).  I am always trying to learn new ways to do that.  I figure that if I find something good, why not share that also?  I figure you mom's (and dad's) love saving money too...it's a good idea to pool resources. 

Along the way I will probably also share a nugget or two of "Jen wisdom" to leave you with...you know you will love it ;)

To re-cap.  Here are my goals:
1.  Make one new recipe a week.  Chronicle it and critique it.
2.  Figure out how a sewing machine works...
3.  Save some money along the way
4.  Share a Jen-Nugget or two
